Some members of the People’s Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State are currently holding a meeting at the party’s campaign office at the GRA axis of Port Harcourt.
The former allies of Governor Nyesom Wike which include; Sir. Celestine Omehia, Hon. Abiye Sekibo, Sen. Lee Maeba amongst others are in the state to drum support for presidential candidate of the PDP.
They are expected to brief journalists on the outcome of the meeting according to sources.
The men fell out with the Rivers State Governor after they declared support for Atiku after he emerged flagbearer of the party.
The rift between Atiku and Wike continues to linger despite attempts to reconcile both leaders.
Atiku in a statement yesterday said he met Wike five times in a bid to resolve the crises rocking the party.
Wike had on different occasions said he would not support Atiku’s presidential bid until national chairman of the party, Iyorchia Ayu resigns his position for a southerner to takeover.
