The National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially confirmed Governor Siminalayi Fubara as the leader of the party in Rivers State. The announcement followed a consultative meeting held in Port Harcourt.
During the meeting, the NWC commended Governor Fubara for his leadership in the party and the State.
Speaking to journalists, PDP National Treasurer Ahmed Yayari Mohammed said the visit was part of efforts to strengthen the party in preparation for the 2027 elections. He praised Governor Fubara’s efforts to stabilize the party, emphasizing unity and repositioning as priorities.
The NWC also expressed support for Sir Ude Okoye, whose reinstatement as PDP National Secretary was upheld by the Court of Appeal. Mohammed affirmed that there are no legal obstacles to Okoye’s position and called on party members to rally behind him and other leaders to ensure progress.
