Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, has alleged that the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is now under the control of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Melaye made the claim during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday night, just a day after he tendered his resignation from the PDP.
He accused the PDP of operating under the influence of the APC, stating that the opposition party allegedly receives directives — including dates for its National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings — from the Presidential Villa.
“The PDP has been purchased by the APC. It’s now a parastatal of the APC. They even take NEC and NWC meeting dates from Aso Villa,” Melaye said. He also questioned the conduct of PDP governors, suggesting they are not behaving like members of an opposition party.
