Jude Ezenwafor, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the November 2025 Anambra governorship election, has been shot, according to reports by Daily Watch Nigeria.
The PDP confirmed the incident on Saturday, though the extent of Ezenwafor’s injuries and his current condition remain unknown.
Reacting to the development, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command stated that no official report of the shooting had been filed. Nonetheless, the authorities assured that an investigation would be launched to uncover the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Ezenwafor was officially submitted as the PDP’s flagbearer in May, with Okeke Chukwudi listed as his running mate. The governorship election is slated for November.
