The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied allegations of forging its Primary Election Guidelines, calling the accusations unfounded and an attempt to damage the party’s reputation.
National Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, in a statement on Sunday insisted that the party’s guidelines remain authentic and unaltered. He alleged that the reports were orchestrated by individuals linked to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to sow discord and discredit the opposition.
The PDP accused a senior APC figure of leading a campaign to weaken the party as part of a strategy to establish one-party dominance in Nigeria. It further claimed that these forces were inciting internal disputes within PDP chapters and misusing law enforcement agencies to pressure party leaders.
The PDP also criticized attempts to involve the police and judiciary in its internal matters, citing Supreme Court rulings that party nomination processes are strictly internal affairs.
Assuring its members of stability, the PDP urged Nigerians to disregard the forgery allegations, reaffirming that its Primary Election Guidelines are unchanged.
