A Chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party, Sen. Dino Melaye has reacted to the court order restraining the PDP from sacking its National Chairman, Illiya Damagum.
Melaye in a statement shortly after the court ruling, said in compliance with the order, Damagum was suspended and not sacked.
According to him, PDP is a law-abiding party, adding that the suspension of Damagum will aid the resolution of the crisis in the party.
“In compliance with the court order, not to sack Damagum, he has been suspended and not sacked. We have obeyed the court order because pdp is a law-abiding party. The suspension will aid the resolution of the crisis in our party,” he said.
Recall that a faction of the PDP had announced the suspension of Damagum and appointed Yayari Mohammed as New Acting Chairman.
