Enefaa Georgewill, chairman of RIVCSO, who made this known in a statement, described the government’s refusal to pay the teachers as evil.
He accused the Wike-led administration of having no mercy for the the poor, stating that it believes in spending money on brick and mortar.
“PayThe TeachersNow. This Government Have No Mercy For The Poor. It Believes In Spending Money On Brick & Mortar Not Statutory Bills,” he said.
According to reports, the state government had on the 18th of February 2016, allegedly issued a directive that the names of the teachers in its schools be removed from the state’s payroll.
Meanwhile, the affected teachers have pleaded with the state government to pay them, so they can carter for themselves and their families.
