The Rivers State Government says the third phase verification exercise for payment of gratuity, pension arrears and death benefit for retirees in the state public service will commence from 12th September to 31st October 2022.
Director General of the Rivers State Pension Board, Ijeoma E.O. Samuel in a signed letter sighted by our correspondent Today, said the exercise covers retirees from 2016 to 2017.
She said retirees affected in the exercise are expected to take note of their scheduled dates and come with relevant documents such as, pension ID card, retirement letter, computation, death certificates for deceased retirees amongst others.
She also warned retirees against presenting false documents so as to avoid embarrassment.
This comes weeks after the state government announced that it had approved the payment of gratuity and death benefits to retired civil servants.
Payment of gratuity should be done in batches as well. No batch has been paid since the verification excercise commenced.
