Barrister Paulette Ajayi, who was rescued yesterday from her abductors at a forest in Okomoko, Etche LGA, Rivers State yesterday, has recounted her ordeal in the kidnappers den.
Paulette was rescued by officers of the state anti-kidnapping unit. This was confirmed by the state Commissioner of Police, Joseph Mukan.
The Barrister in a chat with journalists shortly after her release at the force headquarters in Port Harcourt, said she was shot at but did not sustain any bullet wounds. She noted that the kidnappers were surprised and accused her of having charms after seeing what had happened.
Paulette who commended the Police for their professionalism and timely response said they were planning to kill her before the intervention of the Police.
She said some of her abductors were violent as they requested a ransom of N200 million after everyone had reported that she was missing.
