Former Manchester United and Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba has signed a two-year contract with French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco, marking his return to professional football after serving an 18-month doping ban.
The 32-year-old World Cup winner joins Monaco on a free transfer, with his new deal running until June 2027. The move comes after the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced Pogba’s original four-year ban to 18 months, allowing him to resume competitive play from March 2025.
Pogba had been suspended since September 2023 after testing positive for a banned substance. Juventus terminated his contract in November 2024, leaving him without a club until Monaco’s announcement on June 28, 2025.
The French international, who has battled injury and controversy in recent years, is set to make his comeback in the 2025/2026 Ligue 1 season. His return is expected to strengthen Monaco’s midfield and draw significant attention as he resumes his career in his home country.
