Chairman of the Rivers State Civil Society Organizations, Enefaa Georgewill says young persons with fresh ideas have been indirectly told by older politicians that they cannot lead the country by placing huge amounts on their forms for elective positions.
Enefaa, said this in a statement in reaction to the amount placed on the presidential and Governorship forms of the People’s Democratic Party.
The PDP, yesterday, announced that it has fixed N40 million for the nomination form of its presidential aspirants. While that of its governorship aspirants was fixed at N20 million.
The party, equally approved and announced a 50 percent reduction in nomination fees for youths aged 25 to 30 years for various elective positions, in a bid to encourage young people to run.
However, the RIVCSO Boss noted that the amounts were huge, as it does not give young people the chance to run for elective elections.
“Why Should Form To The Leadership of Your Own Party or Guber Aspiration Be N20M? They Have Just Told Young People With Fresh Ideas That You Can’t Lead Us,” he said.
