The ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) says the party is encouraging consensus for election of party officials because it saves cost and reduces acrimony.
National Secretary, APC Caretaker and Extra-ordinary Convention Planning Committee (CECPC), Sen. John Akpanudoedehe disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday.
He noted that Article 20 of the party’s constitution which talks about elections shows, the first thing is for members to try reaching consensus.
He added that party members could cast ballots, when the consensus option fails.
