Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Gerald Oforji has appealed to the State Government to relax the curfew in the area.
Oforji who disclosed this in a statement also asked the people of Oyigbo to remain calm and law abiding.
The council boss equally noted that he held a meeting with military officers in the area over compliants of human rights abuses and sporadic shootings by residents.
He said the military during the chat promised to follow and obey the rules of engagement while denying any form of rights violation.
Oforji cautioned military personnel against sporadic shooting and taking laws into their hands.
