The Council Chaiman of Oyigbo LGA of Rivers State, Hon. Okechukwu Akara Nwaogu, has donated a cheque of five million maira to victims of the Oyigbo timber market inferno.
The council chairman presented the cheque to Chairman of the market association, Mr. Maduabuchi Okeke in his office on Monday.
The Association’s Chairman who was accompanied by his excos, thanked the Council Chairman for coming to their aid and promised to ensure that the money gets to those affected by the fire.
Recall that the Oyigbo Timber Market was gutted by fire few weeks ago. The council chair at the time pledged to assist affected victims having assessed the extent of damage.
