The Chairman of Oyigbo Local Government Area, Gerald Oforji has denied rumors making the rounds that the military is in the area to revenge the death of its officers.

The council boss in a chat with journalists over the weekend said the information is false as it is being peddled by hoodlums who are bent on causing panic and tension in the area.

He said the officers are in the area to ensure peace and stability as he called on residents to remain calm and go about their normal businesses.

Oforji who warned youths to desist from crime and criminality said anyone caught in the act will be dealt with in accordance with the laws of the land.
