The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that over 2.6 million Nigerians have registered either online or in-person as part of the ongoing nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
In a statement on Tuesday, Sam Olumekun, INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information & Voter Education Committee, said the disclosure followed the Commission’s regular weekly meeting. According to Olumekun, the online pre-registration, which began on Monday, 18 August 2025, recorded 2,532,062 entries within just two weeks.
The Commission described the registration figures as an encouraging sign of civic participation across the country.
