The Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, is set to sanction Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen over his outburst regarding the team’s former coach, Finidi George.
According to OwngoalNigeria a board member of the NFF who pleaded anonymity in a chat, said Osimhen won’t be included in the team until he apologises.
According to him, Osimhen crossed the line with the outburst and has failed to retract the statement after Finidi reached out to him to clear the air.
He noted that the team will sit after the Salah break to officially decide on what to do.
“Osimhen is a role model and the only way we can help the incoming coach stamp his authority in the team is by using him to set the example. He crossed the line with his outburst even when Finidi called him to explain he still didn’t seem fit to retract his statements. We won’t condone that and after the Sallah break, we will sit on the issue. I can tell you he won’t be in the team until he says sorry for his actions,” he was quoted to have said.
