Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has reacted to criticisms trailing his renovation of courts and the building of houses for judges in the state.
Wike in a statement yesterday, said his administration will not be distracted from contributing its quota to guaranteeing a seamless administration of justice both at the state and national levels.
He said his administration was forced to renovate the Appeal and Federal High Courts, because they were dilapidated and were hampering the administration of Justice in the state.
A lawyer in Port Harcourt had dragged the state government to court, stating that they have no business in building houses for judges and buying cars for them, as it is illegal
He reacted to the law suit stating that, “Just this morning the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice came to me that one lawyer in Port Harcourt went to court against the State Government. He said we have no business in building houses for judges, we have no business providing cars for judges.”
He blasted the lawyer saying that he is ill informed and does not have a grasp of how budgets function, and what the role of government is in creating conducive environment for administration of justice.
