Galatasaray manager Okan Buruk has indicated that Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is unlikely to feature for the Super Eagles in their World Cup qualifier against South Africa on Tuesday.
Buruk said the forward sustained an ankle injury during Nigeria’s 1-0 win over Rwanda on Saturday and is currently in pain. He described the setback as a major blow for the Turkish champions.
“If possible, we want to bring him [Osimhen] here as soon as possible and have him checked,” Buruk said.
“It will be clearer tomorrow, he is in pain. He will not be able to play in the match in two days [against South Africa].
“We will see how he is. It was a shame for us,” he stated.
