Organizers have officially announced that the 2026 NPA Port Harcourt International Polo Tournament will take place from January 11 to 17, 2026, promising an extraordinary edition of the prestigious equestrian event.
The tournament, hosted at the Port Harcourt Polo Club, remains the largest polo festival east of the River Niger. This year’s edition carries the theme “United By The Game,” celebrating unity, sportsmanship, and the shared passion that defines polo.
According to organizers, the 2026 tournament will be grander, larger, and more entertaining than previous editions, offering top-level competition, vibrant social events, and a rich display of polo culture.
The event will also serve as a memorial to the late Roland Cookey-Gam, past president of the club and polo icon, marking 20 years since his passing. Cookey-Gam is remembered for his lasting contributions to the sport in Port Harcourt and across Nigeria.
Spectators and participants can look forward to seven days of thrilling chukkas, unpredictable moments on the field, lively social nights, and a luxurious micro-market where guests can connect with polo royalty and enjoy lifestyle experiences.
The Port Harcourt Polo Club invites enthusiasts, sports lovers, and the public to experience the tradition, excitement, and culture of polo at this year’s landmark tournament.
