Former Rivers State Commissioner for Health, Dr Adaeze Chidinma Oreh, has expressed gratitude to Governor Siminalayi Fubara following the dissolution of the State Executive Council, describing her time in office as a rare privilege to serve the people.
In a press statement issued on February 13, 2026, Oreh said she was thankful for the opportunity to contribute to the administration’s health sector reforms and broader development goals in Rivers State.
She noted that her tenure focused on strengthening primary healthcare delivery, improving maternal and child health outcomes, widening access to quality services, and deepening accountability across the system. She added that the ministry also built strong partnerships that boosted the state’s presence in national and global health conversations.
Oreh credited the achievements recorded during her time in office to the collective efforts of health workers, development partners, and communities across the state, rather than individual leadership.
She specifically commended permanent secretaries, directors, medical officers, and frontline health professionals for their dedication and professionalism, saying their commitment helped drive meaningful and lasting impact for women, children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups.
The former commissioner said she was stepping aside in compliance with the governor’s directive and expressed confidence that health sector professionals would sustain and advance the progress already made.
Oreh reaffirmed her continued commitment to supporting stronger health systems, equitable access to care, and institutional reform, adding that she would keep advocating for public health development within and beyond the state.
She thanked residents across riverine and upland communities for their trust and cooperation, saying her pride in serving as commissioner endures despite leaving office
