The Opobo/Nkoro APC Campaign Council have noted with nostalgia the deliberate act of disregard and wickedness meted to Opobo/Nkoro people by the PDP administration in the LGA.
Even on a festive period when over 50 million Naira has been appropriated for power generation.
We are still in disbelief that the Council Chairman, Hon. Enyiada Cookey-Gam could not provide electricity for the people to enjoy their stay in the LGA this festive period, being the only ‘dividends of democracy’ they could afford to give aside poverty and drug abuse that they’ve successfully entrenched in the LGA.
Although, it is public knowledge that the Council Chairman and some members of his cabinet, including a select few from Fubara’s compound are involved in the monthly substantial sharing of the fund allocated for diesel purchase. We had thought that they would spare that of December and provide adequate electricity for the benefit of the people this Yuletide.
Assuming without conceding that a generator they alleged to have overhauled preparatory to the festive period broke down, urgent steps would have been taken within a reasonable time to fix it for the general good of all.
We are even tempted to ask what it will cost the State Government to replace the generator or even see the LGA through a national grid to have electricity, putting into consideration the closeness of Mr. Sim Fubara to Gov. Wike and the numerous donations the governor has made outside the state over things that adds no value to the state other than fan his ego.
We equally have noted, that the few drums of diesel already bought is being shared among members of the PDP under the guise of giving to houses that can light five (5) other buildings. We want to ask the PDP, who will connect these buildings to the houses that will power them and how many houses have they connected and where are the generators located? Opobo/Nkoro people need to know.
We appeal to the good people of Opobo/Nkoro, who are obviously tired of the maladministration of the PDP government, misapplication of our collective resources and and looting of our treasury to remain calm as this inhumane and rudderless government at all levels in the LGAs and State will soon be a thing of the past.
