…..As Council Distributes 550 Bags Of Rices To The 11 Wards In The LGA.
The Executive Chairman of Opobo Nkoro Local Government Area, Rt. Hon(Dr) Enyiada Cookey-Gam , DSSRS Balolo Of Opobo Kingdom yesterday supervised the handover of the Subsidy Removal Palliative to the distribution committee with Representatives of Political parties, Civil Society Organization and NGOs, stakeholders and ward councilors.
During the hand over of the palliative which includes foodstuffs to the respective Wards councillors, the council boss charged them to ensure that the palliative get to the People irrespective of political affiliation, The LGA Boss informed the Stakeholders with the distribution template as mandated by the Rivers State Palliative Committee.
The palliative include 50 bags of rice and other items for each Ward. A federal government initiative, which if properly distributed will cushion the effect of the hardship occasioned by the removal of Fuel subsidy.
In responsive to Chairman’s passionate appeal for thorough distribution of the items, the stakeholders and councillors reassured him of their resolves to do as instructed by the palliative committee..
