The Opobo Kingdom has formally announced the death of its revered monarch, His Royal Majesty, King (Dr) Dandison Douglas Jaja, Jeki V, the Amayanabo and Natural Ruler of Opobo Kingdom.
In honour of the late king, the Kingdom has declared a four-day mourning period, during which all commercial and business activities will be suspended, effective from this morning. The directive is intended as a mark of respect for the departed traditional ruler.
The passing of the monarch has thrown Opobo Kingdom and the wider Niger Delta region into deep mourning, as tributes continue to pour in celebrating his leadership, wisdom, and unwavering commitment to the preservation of culture and the development of his people.
Condolences have been extended to the Royal Family, the people of Opobo Kingdom, and all those affected by the loss, with prayers for strength, comfort, and eternal rest for the late monarch.
