Chairman of Emouha Local Government Area, Hon. Chidi Lloyd says the operator of an illegal mortuary he discovered at the Elele-Alimi general hospital has been handed over to the Police.
Lloyd, in a statement Today, said the mortuary was discovered while on a raid on illegal oil refiners in the area.
According to him, over 30 corpses were discovered in the mortuary operated by a woman who was seen with a little baby.
He noted that the facility has been sealed up and handed over to the police, adding that the matter is currently being investigated.
The council boss, revealed that he suspects the corpses are that of kidnap victims.
He described the act as evil and assured that all those involved would be brought to justice.
Meanwhile stakeholders have called on the Rivers State Government to renovate the abandoned general hospital.
A source said the hospital was long abandoned but the mortuary section was still functioning.
