MEMORISE: Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth. Proverbs 27:1
BIBLE READING: LUKE 12:16-20 (KJV)
16. And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17. And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?
18. And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
19. And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20. But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

Boasting is one of the attitudes of the proud. Hardly would you see a proud fellow that does not boast. This is because they are so full of themselves. A proud fellow believes that he/ she is the best.
From our Bible passage for today, the farmer in that story was called the rich fool. He was rich, yet foolish. In other words, God sees the boastful as foolish. God took the rich fool because he felt he had made a great harvest by his wisdom and that he could now rest from his labour.
This teaches that whatever anyone has is from God. Whatever feat anyone achieves is as a result of Gods help. Therefore, you must always give glory to God because, at the snap of His finger, a mans breath could cease.God hates pride. No wonder His word says He resists the proud and gives grace to the humble (1 Peter 5:5).
Therefore, if you want to enjoy Gods grace all your life, never boast of anything. Instead, acknowledge the supremacy of God and His grace in your life.
PRAYER POINT: Father, please give me the grace to always acknowledge You as my Source.
