MEMORISE: Romans 6:1-2 – “What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
BIBLE READING: Romans 6:1-12 (KJV)
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
2 God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death?
4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection:
6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
8 Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him:
9 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him.
10 For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.
11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Grace is the supernatural ability given to us by God to live in constant obedience to Him. The Bible says in Romans 6:14: For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.
Grace is not a license to sin. Grace is an enablement to do the will of God. If victory over sin was impossible, Christ would not have died. His death would have been in vain. Matthew 1:21 says:
And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.
If you belong to Jesus Christ, God will give you grace to live above sin so that it would no longer control you. Don’t let the false teachers deceive you into believing that grace gives you the liberty to sin; the wages of sin is still death. God is coming back for a Church without any spot or wrinkle. If you want to be a part of that Church, then you have to stay away from sin.
That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. – (Ephesians 5:27)
If you have sinned, God is willing to have mercy on you because of His grace, but if you decide to take that grace for granted by making sin a habit, then you are calling for damnation. The Bible says that God forbids it that you continue in sin, using the excuse of His abundant grace.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? – (Romans 6:1-2)
A true born-again Christian will be seeking the grace of God so as to be completely dead to sin and not as an excuse to sin.
KEY POINT: Father, give me the grace to be completely dead to sin. Grace such that I will have absolutely no interest in sin, please give to me, Lord.
