Open Heaven 1 February 2025: God Teaches (2)
MEMORISE: Shew me thy ways, O Lord; teach me thy paths. Psalm 25:4
READ: 1 Corinthians 2:6-13
However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing. 7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God [a]ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
9 But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God. 11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God. 12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God.
13 These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the [b]Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

Yesterday, I narrated how God helped me to complete my PhD thesis by teaching me how to solve a complex mathematical problem through His word.
Today, I want to share with you another dimension of how God teaches His children.
During my postgraduate studies at the University of Lagos, my supervisor, an Indian, gave me an assignment just before he travelled.
When he returned, I had made significant progress, which made him ask me, “Enoch, I know that you are a Christian, so you wouldn’t lie. Who helped you?”
He didn’t believe in God, but he knew that Christians do not lie. I knew that if I said ‘Jesus’, he would laugh at me, so I said, “Professor Emmanuel,” referring to one of the names of Jesus (Matthew 1:23).
When you become intimate with God, you will start operating on a level of wisdom and understanding that is above your peers.
The closer you are to God, the wiser He will make you. You will begin to answer questions in such a way that it will be obvious to people that you are being taught by God.
You will look at difficult situations, and God will impress their solutions in your spirit.
By the time you execute the solutions that God gives you, people will think that you are very smart, whereas you only have a teacher who is greater than all teachers.
In Galatians 3:27, the Bible says: For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
In Yorubaland, where I come from, there is a saying that when the leaf stays long with the soap, it also becomes soap.
Being baptised into Christ signifies that you are now one with God. As you grow in Him by praying regularly, fellowshipping with other believers, studying your Bible, evangelising, and so on, you will start living the same way Christ would have if He were still physically on the earth.
You will start operating on a level of wisdom that is higher than that of those around you because you have surrendered to God and are completely sold out to Him.
Beloved, God is the greatest teacher of all; in Him lies all wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:2-3). If you put your trust in Him and lean not on your understanding (Proverbs 3:5), He will be your teacher.
OPEN HEAVEN 1 FEBRUARY 2025 KEY POINT:
