The Rivers State Police Command, has debunked rumors making the rounds that its personnel shot dead a youth identified as Amasi Victor during the Onne youth council election, today.
Spokesperson of the command, DSP. Grace Koko said the youth was killed when fight broke out amongst youths of the community during the election.
She said no Police officer is linked to the incident, and that none of them was close to the scene of the crime, when the deceased was shot.
She noted that the matter is currently being investigated.
Meanwhile, Chairman of Eleme Local Government Area, Obarilormate Ollor said he is yet to get a comprehensive report of the incident, from the Police.
He also denied reports linking him to the incident.
