The South South Youth Initiative, has appealed to the Rivers State Government, to give attention to youths in the state as it has given to Julius Berger over the years.
National President of the group, Oscar Amiebi in a statement over the weekend, said though the achievements of the state government in infrastructural development is commendable, attention should be given to Human Capital development.
He said the state government has failed to invest in empowerment programmes, which are highly needed for development of youths in the state.
Oscar noted that everyone, including pensioners, civil servants and youths in the state are complaining, except Julius Berger.
He said the rising spate of insecurity being witnessed in the state and the country at large, is as a result of lack of jobs for young people.
In addition, he said provision of jobs for young people, will definitely reduce the spate of insecurity bedeviling the nation.
