One person has been reportedly killed after rival cult groups clashed at the Iloabuchi Waterfront axis of Diobu in Port Harcourt.
According to sources the incident occurred on Sunday evening, after a member of one of the groups misplaced a face cap belonging to a member of the other.
A resident of the area said owner of the cap alongside his men injured the boy who misplaced the cap with bottles after insisting that he must pay for it.
She noted that the victim escaped from the scene, reinforced and came back with his group members.
She also said shots were fired that night as they all scampered for safety to avoid being hit by stray bullet.
The lady confirmed that two persons were shot, and one died on the spot while the other person has been hospitalized.
The incident was what led to commotion at the Eagle Island junction by Iloabuchi Road in Diobu Port Harcourt, Rivers State this afternoon, as gunshots rented the air.
Investigation by Elanhub revealed that the sporadic shooting caused panic and apprehension among residents of the area who scampered for safety.
