A fatal cult-related clash on Easter Sunday has left one person dead in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The incident occurred along Abakaliki Street in Mile 1, Diobu, within Port Harcourt City Local Government Area. The identity of the deceased is yet to be confirmed.
Sources indicate that the violence erupted between rival factions of the Deygbam cult group, known as the Doggies and White Eagle houses, reportedly over territorial dominance.
The clash caused widespread fear and disruption in the area during the Easter celebrations.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Rivers State Command, Grace Iringe-Koko, described the situation as an intra-cult clash.
“Yes, I can confirm the incident. It is linked to an intra-cult clash between members of a particular cult group in Diobu,” she stated.
