One person has been killed at the Emenike by Ikwerre road axis of Mile 1 in Diobu Port Harcourt, over alleged refusal to accept the old naira notes.
Eyewitnesses say the deceased was beaten to death by suspected hoodlums after he rejected the old naira note.
The incident caused panic in the area as traders, customers and passersby scampered for safety.
