A former Special Assistant to Hon. Kelechi Nwogu, representing Omuma constituency in the Rivers State House of Assembly, Marshall Okere has defected from the People’s Democratic Party to the All Progressives Congress.
Okere, in a chat with journalists over the weekend, said he decided to dump the party, due to high-handedness of party leaders in Omuma LGA.
According to him, the party leadership in the LGA, has brought untold hardship and pain to Omuma people, instead of the dividends of democracy.
He also accused party executives of siphoning funds meant for projects, as they have turned the council to their private institution.
Okere, said he had to decamp with his supporters to the APC, because he could no longer watch party executives destroy the LGA.
He called on Omuma people to get their Permanent Voters Cards, and also rise to fight for their emancipation.
