The new Olu of Warri, Utieyinoritsetsola Emiko, Ogiame Atuwatse III, has revoked the curse placed on Nigeria by his grandfather Olu Erejuwa 11.
His grandfather, according to reports had placed a curse on Nigeria over alleged injustice meted out to him by the Federal Government, many years ago.
Olu Emiko, during his coronation on Saturday, revealed that the motto of his reign would be ‘righteousness and justice.
He declared healing, prosperity, progress, development and peace in Nigeria, stating that the throne has forgiven the Federal government.
“Today, in our capacity as Olu, we hereby avow, as the spiritual, cultural, political and traditional ruler of this land, I, Ogiame Atuwatse III…, And direct descendant of Olu Erejuwa II, who was offended on this throne, I hereby reverse the curse placed over this land,” he said.
“In its place, I release forgiveness and healing to the Federal Government of Nigeria whose might was used to propagate that offence,” he added.
