Rt. Hon. Victor Oko-Jumbo has formally resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), taking along his entire support structure. He made the announcement during a stakeholders’ meeting held at his Bonny residence.
His defection comes on the heels of Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s move to the APC, a development that triggered extensive consultations among his loyalists and political associates.
Oko-Jumbo said the decision was aimed at ensuring unity and sustaining a collective political direction.
“We have taken this step today after receiving the green light. I encourage all those who have stood firmly with Governor Fubara to join us in the APC,” he stated.
He reaffirmed his and his supporters’ commitment to supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and contributing to national development.
The former lawmaker also expressed gratitude to his supporters for their steadfastness, urging them to remain peaceful, focused, and united as they transition to the new political platform.
