The Supreme Court of Nigeria has ruled that the 17 oil Wells in Egbema and Ndoni communities belong to Rivers State and not Imo State.
The Apex Court delivered judgement in the matter, today.
The two states have been having a legal dispute over the ownership of the oil wells.
The court in its ruling maintained that only Rivers State is entitled to receive the full allocation of the distributable revenue from the oil wells on the basis of the 1390 derivation as contained under section 162 of the 1999 constitution.
