The Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara says his administration will donate six gunboats to the Navy in the next few day to assist them in the fight against Oil theft.
Fubara, who made this known in a statement on Wednesday, said his administration will continue to support security agencies to succeed.
He noted that the state is not just relying on national committees for the protection of pipelines, adding that his administration has its own internal mechanism to checkmate oil theft.
“We are donating in the next few days six gunboats to the Nigerian Navy, the closest agency to us in this war against oil theft, to check this scourge in the difficult terrain, and also deploy them for regional security,”
“We are not just relying on the activities of the big national committees. We also have our internal mechanism to checkmate and discourage the vandalisation of these pipelines,” he said.
