The Chairman of the Oil Mill market in Rumukwurishi, Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Osi Nwosu has announced that the market and the community have lost over N25 million since the closure of the market by the government. This was due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 in the state.
Nwosu who made this known in a chat with news correspondents yesterday said, the closure of the market has affected them in several ways.
The chairman who commended the Rivers State Government for its proactive measures in curbing the spread of the virus, equally appealed for the reopening of the market.
He furthermore, assured of compliance with the directives of the government and the observance of all COVID-19 protocols, should the market reopen.
