His statement reads,
As a responsive and responsible Government that understands that the people are our first priority, I recieved traders of the burnt section of Oilmill Market led by the Rumuokwurusi Community Development Committee Chairman, Comrade Osi Wosu.
A section of the Oilmill Market got burnt down by an inferno few days ago.
The meeting was centred around finding ways to soothe the pains of the traders whose goods were destroyed by the enstranged fire. As a Government, we feel their pains and we will respond in the right way. We are playing our role to show that we are sympathetic with our people.
We will see to what extent we can cushion the effect of the fire because the market is a means of livelihood for the traders and the people of Obio/Akpor even though it is being owned and managed by Rumuokwurushi community.
A committee has been set up to assess and attend to the traders individually based on what they sell and the quantity of goods destroyed by the inferno and they will be compensated duly.
