Socio-cultural group, Ikwerre Youths Progressive Initiative (IYPI), has called on former Rivers State Governor, Rotimi Amaechi to contest for the position of President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.
The call, came following a declaration by the Ohaneze that Rivers State will produce the next President General in line with its constitutional provision for rotating the office among member states.
Barrister Cosmas Ozinyowe, National leadership of the IYPI, in a statement hailed Amaechi’s leadership qualities, describing him as qualified to occupy the position.
“The position of President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo offers you a unique opportunity to lead with vision, redefine the Igbo identity in Nigeria’s political landscape, and pave the way for a united and prosperous Nigeria.”
“Your relationships with other regional blocs will foster national unity through cultural exchanges, regional economic partnerships, and political dialogue,” Cosmas said to Amaechi.
