The Chief Jackson Omenazu-led Ohanaeze Ndigbo has accused Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, of undermining due process and democratic governance in the state.
In a statement released on Friday, the apex organization described the governor’s actions as a threat to peace, unity, and democracy in Rivers State.
The statement, jointly signed by Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, Deputy President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide, and Chief Chinenyeze Thompson Ohia, National Publicity Secretary, condemned Governor Fubara’s decision to operate with a three-member House of Assembly.
The group affirmed that Rt. Hon. Martin Chike Amaewhule is the rightful Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly and commended the legislature for its efforts in safeguarding democratic principles.
