Fans of Rivers United Football Club, have been accused of beating up a fan of Akwa United during a match between both club sides at the Adokiye Amesiamaka Stadium on Sunday in Port Harcourt.
The fans were also accused of seizing the center referee after the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Sources say it took the intervention of the state Commissioner of Sports, Boma yaye for the official to be released and escorted out of the stadium.
The source, also said the Akwa United fan was beaten up for supporting his team during the match.
