The Sole Administrator of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Clifford Ndu Walter, has reinstated the status of former Rivers State Governor and current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, at the council secretariat.
The restoration follows the destruction of Wike’s symbolic representations at the facility by protesting youths amid the recent political crisis in the state.
In a further show of support for the former governor, Walter also renamed the council’s administrative building in Wike’s honour. Wike’s name had previously been removed from the facility by former council chairman, Amb Chijioke Ihunwo and replaced with that of late elder statesman, Senator Obi Wali.
