He said the transformer will be procured and made available for use by the end of March 2022 to improve the standard of living and ease of doing business in the Area.

He added that communities within the ambits of the Local Government Council ought not to be separated from the corridors of governance and government.

The Council Chairman revealed this on Thursday, when members of Rumuadaolu community paid him a courtesy visit at the Council Headquarters, Rumuodomaya.

Addressing members of the community, Ariolu expressed delight over the visit, reiterating that his administration is open to receiving communities within the LGA for the interest of the people, insisting that the Local Government Council all over the world are the closest to the grassroots.

While commending the people of Rumuadaolu community over their leadership, he considered the society to be dynamic as well as pragmatic, owing to the fact that certain things changes over time.

Reiterating his administration’s readiness and commitment to improve lives and develop the Area, he stressed on the need to train more people, particularly youths in several skills and vocations that will enable them empower themselves and the society, describing human capital development as the best form of empowerment in the society.

Similarly, he recounted his administration’s achievements in the educational sector which has enabled the council offer grants to over Fifty students who are pursuing their Ph.D and another Fifty for Masters students, adding that before the end of his administration, over 250 of them must have graduated.

He added that time has past when the people consider the Local Government to be a garbage in, garbage out thing, maintaining that it is the third tier of government that owes the people the responsibility of good governance.

According to him, if good governance is achieved at the Local Government level, it will be actualized at all levels of government.

Speaking further, Ariolu who attributed the urbanization of Obio/Akpor to the robust and huge urban developmental programs of Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, commended him for transforming the LGA to a Metropolitan City.
