The chairman, caretaker committee of Obio Akpor local government area, Amb Ihunwo Chijioke has asked the business community in the local government to stop having any dealing with the outgone chairman of the local government area, Barr George Ariolu.
Ihunwo issued the advice while inspecting some motor parks in the local government area on Monday.
He also asked companies operating in Obio Akpor to be aware that all revenue committees of the council are dissolved.
He further cautioned the companies not to fall prey to paying their taxes to the outgone administration or its agents.
“Ordinarily,I shouldn’t have joined issue with the outgone chairman of council Barr George Ariolu but for the benefit of the unsuspecting members of the public,I want to state it clearly that the tenure of Barr Ariolu has expired and he lacks the power whatsoever to continue to ask you people to pay any kind of tax to him,any of you that will be caught doing so will be arrested and handed over to the police for prosecution for aiding criminality in our LGA, so be wary of fraudsters masquerading as task collectors,” he said.
