The Obio/Akpor Local Government Council has issued a public warning regarding the activities of fraudulent individuals posing as revenue agents and consultants. According to a statement signed by Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, the Executive Chairman, these impostors are defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.
The council clarified that the only approved revenue agent for all revenue collection in Obio/Akpor is Dr. Ogechi Wechie. Dr. Wechie’s office is located within the council premises at the Chairman’s administrative block.
Ihunwo cautioned residents and businesses against making payments to private individuals or any of his aides as such transactions are not authorized and will be considered invalid.
“To avoid double payment, ensure that you are dealing with the approved consultant only,” the statement advised.
