Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Barr George Ariolu DSSRS, has disclosed that his administration is set to commence the training of eligible youths of Obio/Akpor in Trucking.
Ichenwo Goodluck, Chief Press Secretary of the council disclosed this in a statement on Friday.
He said the training program which is part of his Human Capacity Development program is a deliberate step by his administration to improve the lives of the youths in the Local Government Area.
The chairman disclosed this when elders, women and youths of Elioparanwo community in Rumuokwuta Clan led by Chief Promise Amadi Chika, Eze Kwesiri Oparanwo, Okwuta Clan paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman at the Council Headquarters on Friday 6th October, 2023.
“For the sole benefit of our people, we are going to train a particular number of our people in the area of Trucking; To man very big trucks. In anything we want to do, we usually carry out a feasibility study. We take our time to do comparative analysis and analyse the advantages of the program.”
“In this area of Trucking, they will be trained by a globally recognised company, we discovered that if our wards go there and learn well, there are various job opportunities for them even outside the country,” he said.
