The Chairman of Obio Akpor Local Government Area, Solomon Eke has warned those violating the COVID-19 directives of the state government to desist from such acts or face severe sanctions.
Solomon Eke, who made this known in a chat with journalists yesterday said, there are intelligent reports of churches and other religious organisations not obeying the directive of the government on the number of persons to attend a church service.
The Council Boss said most of the churches now allow more than 70 persons in a service, warning them to stop or face sanctions. He also warned beer parlours still operating in the area to desist from the act or risk seal off of their properties.
He appealed to members of the public to obey the directives of the government and continue practicing good respiratory hygiene to help curb the spread of the virus.
