The Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, Amb Ihunwo Chijioke has received the new Commissioner of Police deployed to Rivers State, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, at the Council Secretariat.

The visit of the Commissioner of Police was in connection with the recent political happenings in Rivers State.

In his speech, the new Commissioner of Police, CP Mustapha Mohammed Bala, expressed the neutrality of Police under his watch in the political happenings in Rivers State.

He said the purpose of his visit to the Executive Chairman was to ascertain the situation at the council. He highlighted the importance of peace in the area, while calling on everyone to remain calm. The new CP wished the Executive Chairman well in his endeavor, and assured the Executive Chairman of the police readiness to provide maximum security in the area.

In his remark, the Executive Chairman of Obio/Akpor Local Government, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo thanked the new Commissioner of Police for visiting him at the Council. He assured the new Commissioner of Police that the council will work in synergy with the police to maintain law and order in the local government.
